Integrated Offshore Seismic Survey Using an Unmanned Wave Glider

چکیده

An autonomous surface vehicle, known as a wave glider, was used to record refracted and reflected signals from seismic source penetrating the shallow subsurface. integrated survey system consisting of gilder human-operated vessel deployed. These systems are acquire wide-offset data specific areas, such offshore structures. The gliders can collect refraction reflection data, which be estimate subsurface information, e.g., acoustic velocity structure. We processed raw collected by receiver equipped with glider relationship between travel time offset distance calculate velocities sedimentary deposits basement. basement were estimated 1557 3507 m/s, respectively. then overlaid on measured using single-channel streamer. Our results indicate that unmanned equipment for ocean exploration aid energy development.

The Intelligent Control System and Experiments for an Unmanned Wave Glider

The control system designing of Unmanned Wave Glider (UWG) is challenging since the control system is weak maneuvering, large time-lag and large disturbance, which is difficult to establish accurate mathematical model. Meanwhile, to complete marine environment monitoring in long time scale and large spatial scale autonomously, UWG asks high requirements of intelligence and reliability. This pap...

Resolving a persistent offshore surface temperature maximum in Lake Superior using an autonomous underwater glider

In November 2009, an autonomous underwater glider (AUG) was deployed for a period of 12 days on the Wisconsin Shelf of Lake Superior. During this period, the AUG made repeated cross-shelf transects from 3 km to 13 km offshore, making 26 cross-shelf transects in all, during which time temperature was measured. Each of these transects displayed a mid-shelf temperature maximum roughly 8 km offshor...

Seismic Wave-Field Propagation Modelling using the Euler Method

Wave-field extrapolation based on solving the wave equation is an important step in seismic modeling and needs a high level of accuracy. It has been implemented through a various numerical methods such as finite difference method as the most popular and conventional one. Moreover, the main drawbacks of the finite difference method are the low level of accuracy and the numerical dispersion for l...

Extreme Wave Loading on Offshore Wave Energy Devices using CFD

Two commercial Navier-Stokes solvers are applied to wave-wave and wave-structure interaction problems leading to the final application of simulating a single float of the wave energy converter (WEC) Manchester Bobber in extreme waves and a fixed section of the Pelamis in regular waves. First the two software packages CFX and STAR CCM+ are validated against measured results from physical tank te...
